The Sustainability Forum Middle East was held in Manama, Bahrain, from 28 to 29 January 2025, bringing private-sector leaders together around sustainability and climate action.
The regional platform promotes understanding and action by businesses whose adoption of sustainability and decarbonisation is critical to the net-zero ambitions of MENA countries. It comprises an annual forum and high-level roundtables throughout the year on the decarbonisation of regional economies.
Powering the Future
Mr Robert Valk, Founder and CEO of Renergy Group Partners and Green Tech Egypt, joined the panel “Powering the Future: MENA’s Renewable Energy Surge and the Hydrogen Revolution.” The session examined major regional investment in solar and wind power and hydrogen’s emerging role in achieving net-zero targets.
Mr Valk shared his perspective on the opportunities and challenges involved in moving to renewable-energy sources. The forum provided a setting for leaders to exchange knowledge, discuss solutions and collaborate on the region’s sustainability agenda.
