On 25 January 2019, Governor of Red Sea General Ahmed Abdullah and Dr Ezz EL-Din Abu Steit, Minister of agricultures, opened the Hurghada Recycling factory. General Abdullah mentioned that the new recycling factory is the first one in Egypt which use new recycling technology compatible with European standards. All machines are imported from the Netherlands and Germany with the latest European recycling technology. The plant will be managed by HEPCA, The Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association. The factory was designed, built and delivered by Green Tech Egypt. General Abdullah added that the new factory is a significant move forward in The Environmental sector and in Hurghada city because it can process 400 tons MSW and provide jobs for 62 people.
