Prime Minister Dr Mostafa Madbouly toured HEPCA’s Solid Waste Management Plant, the first facility of its kind built in Hurghada. He was accompanied by Khaled El-Anany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities; Hisham Tawfiq, Minister of Public Enterprise; Red Sea Governor Amr Hanafi; and senior officials.
HEPCA Managing Director Hesham Mostafa Kamel explained the plant’s operating cycle before leading the delegation on a tour. The facility covers 22,500 square metres, cost 60 Million, can process up to 400 tons per day and employs 500 people. It uses advanced technologies from Germany and the Netherlands to process garbage after solid-waste recycling.
Dr Madbouly praised HEPCA’s role in protecting the Red Sea. The plant was intended to transfer to Red Sea Governorate ownership. He also highlighted the contribution of non-governmental organisations to society, efficient waste use and environmental protection.
